Ina Lahti (Hongisto)

Obituary of Ina Lahti Pilgrim Location Ina A. Lahti, 96, a former resident of Pilgrim Location, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for the past two years. She was born on July 8, 1918, in Pilgrim Location a daughter of the late Rhyno and Ida (Saari) Hongisto. As a child, she was raised in Paradise Location and attended the Houghton Schools. Ina was united in marriage to Werner Lahti. The couple moved to Pilgrim Location where they operated a farm and raised five boys. On June 10, 1983, Werner preceded Ina in death. Mrs. Lahti was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing baseball as a young woman. Preceding her in death were sons; Paul, Alvin & Wallace; her husband, her parents and her brothers and sisters. Surviving are: Her sons: Edwin (Sherry) Lahti of Houghton & James (Cherie) Lahti of Cedar Lake, MI; Her grandchildren and great grandchildren Funeral services for Ina will be held 10 am Monday July 14, 2014, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Pastor Dan McGrath to officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Friends may call on Monday July 14, from 9 am until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
