James Michael Bryant

Houghton

     James M. "Brento" Bryant, 64, a resident of Houghton passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at home.

     He was born on October 20, 1958, in Hancock, MI, a son of the late Prudent and Betty (Almlie) Bryant.  James was raised in Houghton and was a graduate of the Houghton High School with the class of 1977.

     Mr. Bryant was a veteran having served with the United States Navy retiring after 20 years of service.  He then returned to make his home in Houghton and had worked various jobs that his health would allow.

     On December 21, 2000, he was united in marriage to the former Janean Mantta.

     James enjoyed tinkering with small engines, spending time outdoors, shooting guns, going for 4-wheeler rides, camping and visiting with friends.

      Preceding him in death were his parents his brother John and his sister Judy.

     Surviving are:

            His wife: Janean

            His children: Michael Bryant, Jason Davis, Jon Davis and Melissa Bryant.

            His sisters: Cyndy (Gerald) Quello and Kathy (David) Plowe

            Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

     A time to remember Brento and share stories will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock from 5 to 7:00 pm with Military Honors conducted by the Copper Country Veterans Association at 7:00 pm.

     Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton at a later time.
