Obituary of James Nordstrom Portage Township James "Jim" Nordstrom, 63, of Portage Twp., died on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital following a short illness. He was born on December 11, 1947 in Hancock a son of the late Robert & Dorothy (Montanuge) Nordstrom. Jim graduated from Houghton High School. On May 28, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sharon Simons. Mr. Nordstrom owned and operated Nordstrom Trucking. James was associated with the Jehovah Witnesses. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son- Robert, a brother -Robert, a sister-Cindy Burdette. Surviving are: His wife Sharon, 3 sons - Tony of Houghton; Terry of Baltic & Jamey of Portage Twp; 2 daughters-Lisa Harry & Pam Fountaine both of Ripley; 2 sisters - Paulette (Arnie) Yrjana of Hurontown; Barbara Mattson of Portage Twp; a brother-in-law - Dale Simons of Houghton; 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; numerous nieces & nephews. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 16 at 5 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock. Visitation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
