Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Joyal Houghton Jennifer Joyal, 46, a resident of Houghton passed away at her home for the past 27 years, the Portage House in Houghton, Friday morning December 14, 2018, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 25, 1972, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of Aldred and Gail (Carlson) Joyal. Jennifer had resided in Newberry, MI, before moving to the Whispering Pine group home in Escanaba, MI. For the past 27 years, she has been able to make her home at the Portage House in Houghton where she was able to touch everyone she met. Jennifer was a graduate of the Copper Country Intermediate Schools, she enjoyed going for car rides, swimming and opening Christmas presents. Preceding her in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents and a cousin Melonie Carlson. Surviving are: Her mother: Gail Joyal of Dollar Bay Her father: Aldred Joyal of Iron River Her brother & Sister: Thomas (Sabrina Sever) Joyal of Trap Rock Valley Lenora (Steven) Rehborg of DeForest, WI Her niece and nephew: Noah and Kira Rehborg Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins A memorial service for Jennifer will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Pastor Brian Knight to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet. Friends may call on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 12:00 noon until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
