Obituary of Jerome Stowe Hancock Jerome "Jerry" Stowe, 69, a resident of Hancock, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, where he had been a resident patient since January 1, 2004. He was born on February 17, 1934, in Detroit, a son of the late Frank and Doreen (Cartier) Stowe . He lived in various cities & states, and was a resident of Houghton since 1969, and moved to Hancock in 1974, Jerry was a graduate with the Class of 1952, of Cooley High School in Detroit, and received his Geological Degree from M.T.U. in 1956,and his Engineering Administration Degree from M.T.U. in 1957. He was the former owner & operator of Jerry's Coney Island Restaurant, Jerry's Bar, and Jerry's Cab Stand in Houghton for several years, Surviving are: 3 Daughters: Debbie (Ross) Berryhill of Indiana Cindy (Curt) Larson of Aura Jamie Stowe of Hancock 1 Son: Mike (Carla) Stowe of Paris, Texas 2 Grandchildren: Eric DeCesare & Kirstie Larson 2 Sisters: Norma Diebel of Ventura, CA Dee (Melvin) Thomas of Ft. Meyers, Florida 1 Brother: Robert Stowe of Franklin, MI Several nieces, nephews, & cousins Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at 11 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock, with Rev. Victoria Bethel to officiate. Friends may call from 10:30 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home on Friday.
