Obituary of Joachim Tolksdorf Houghton Joachim "Joe" Tolksdorf, 79, a resident of Sixth St., Houghton died unexpectedly, March 20, 2008, at his home. Joe who was an army veteran was also in the Merchant Marines. He retired from White Pine Mine as a mechanic and was a Merchant Seaman as a young man. Joe Tolksdorf was a hard worker who enjoyed renovating his own home, as well as helping his children. One thing he looked forward to doing the most was driving on trips. Survivors include: His wife of 51 years, the former Joyce Saari Tolksdorf His sons: Gary Tolksdorf of Laurium Glen Tolksdorf of Calumet His daughter: Lori Tolksdorf of Wausau, Wisconsin Four grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Stephanie, Jonathan and Grant Tolksdorf His sister: Ruth Dowd of Houghton Several nieces and nephews At the request of the deceased he will be cremated and there will be no visitation.
