Joanne Pastick (Kemppainen)

Obituary of Joanne F. Pastick Houghton/Cary, IL Joanne F. Pastick, 78, a resident of Cary, IL and former Houghton resident passed away Sunday June 12, 2016, in Cary, IL, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 17, 1938, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Alle and Helen (Nelson) Kempainen. Joanne was raised in Trimountain and attended the Jeffers School. As a young woman she resided in Illinois for a few years. She returned to the Copper Country and met her future husband Robert Pastick. The couple had resided in Houghton where they owned and operated the Vacation Land Motel for a number of years. For the past 12 years Joanne has made her home in Cary Il. On November 7, 2009, Robert preceded Joanne in death. Joanne loved to spend time with her family, read books and work on cross stich projects. Surviving are: Her daughter: Carole Holderness of Crystal Lake, IL Her 5 grandsons, her daughter-in-law and her great granddaughter Her sister: Mary Rule of Florida A private graveside service for Joanne will be held at a later date in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery.
