Obituary of John Aho HoughtonJohn W. Aho, 64, a resident of the Arbor Green Apartments in Houghton passed away Friday evening September 20, 2013, at the Portage Hospital in Hancock following a short illness.He was born on March 22, 1949, in Hancock, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Tiura) Aho. He was raised in Trimountain and attended the Jeffers Schools.Mr. Aho was a veteran having served with the United States Army.John was a log scaler working for Connor Manufacturing in Baraga and Northern Hardwoods of South Range until poor health forced an early retirement.Mr. Aho was united in marriage to the former Jean Loonsfoot and in December of 1992, she preceded him in death. On May 18, 1996, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Destrampe.John was an avid outdoorsman.
