Obituary of John Bryant HoughtonJohn P. Bryant, 58, a former resident of Houghton, passed away Tuesday May 22, 2012, at the Portage Hospital following a lengthy illness.John was born March 25, 1954, to Butch and Betty Bryant of Houghton. He attended Houghton High School and enlisted into the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He was proud to serve his country. After the Army he married Ann Marie Julio of Hancock. But eventually they divorced. But they remained close over the years.John worked for many years as a Gazette Driver first doing the Copper Harbor route, than as the Toivola Driver until his health revented him from working. Prior to that he drove occasionally for the Plowe's Funeral Home.John greatest loves besides family and friends were bowling, darts, and playing pool. He played an numerous leagues, won numerous trophies and touched many people's lives through the enjoyment of those sports.The Plowe Funeral Home of Houghton is assisting the family with the arrangements which will be announced at a later time. John had many fond memories of bowling, darts, and pool playing with and against his friends.John was preceded in death by his parents Butch and Betty Bryant, and his sister Judith Bryant. His is survived by:His sons and daughter:John Bryant, James M. Bryant, Anastasia Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Joseph (Samantha Short) Julio, and Christopher Julio all from Hancock, his grandson Kyler and his ex-wife Ann Marie Julio of Hancock. He is also survived by his sisters Cindy (Gerald) Quello and Kathy (David) Plowe and his brother James Bryant and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.John's family would like to thank everyone that was a part of his life, for making his life as enjoyable as possible and for allowing him to be a part of your lives, so thank you for being his friend.
