Obituary of John Arne Jarvi L'Anse John A. Jarvi, 81, a former resident of L'Anse passed away Saturday December 22, 2007, at the Baraga County Hospital in L'Anse where he had been a resident patient for the past 5 days. He was born on September 23, 1926, in Calumet, a son of the late John and Anna (Maki) Jarvi. As a child he attended the Laurium Schools. Mr. Jarvi was a veteran having served with the United States Army during World War II. John moved to the Detroit area after the War where he worked for Chrysler Corporation until his retirement in 1980. In 1990 He moved to L'Anse where he resided until becoming a resident at the Covington Rest home in February of 2006. Preceding him in death: were his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers Surviving are: His Children: John (Mary Ann) Jarvi of Twin Lakes, MI Carol Ann Back of Baraga Alice Jarvi of Florida Gloria Jean (John) Schjoth of L'Anse Lois Martha (Chris) Botruff of Baraga Robin Louise (Greg) Schaefer Santee, CA 11 Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Private graveside service for John will be held later this spring in the Veterans section of Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
