Obituary of John Komula Chassell John A. Komula, 88, a resident of E. Massie Road, Chassell, passed away Friday evening, July 30, 2004, at home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Arnheim on March 22, 1916, a son of the late Oscar A. and Anna (Wayrynen) Komula, and attended the local school. He resided for most of his lifetime in the Chassell area. Mr. Komula was an Excavating Contractor by trade, and also had done logging. He was united in marriage to the late Lillian Manninen on Sept. 23, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 1994. On Oct. 18, 1997, he was married to the former Betty Gagnon Myrick John was a long time member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, and had sung in its church choir for many years. He was also a charter member of the Chassell Lions Club. Also preceding him in death were his parents; 4 Sisters; Mrs. Ida Hilbert, Mrs. Ilene Junttila, Mrs. Ann Lescelius, Mrs. Sylvia Aho, & 5 Brothers; William, Eino, Jack, Waino, & Earl Komula. , Surviving are: his wife, Betty 1 Son: Jim (Pat) Komula of Livonia 2 Grandchildren: Scott & Kelley 2 Step sons: Rev. William (Linda) Myrick of Delavan, WI Todd (Francis) Myrick of Escanaba 1 Step daughter: Mrs. Trudy (Bob) Gray of Marquette Several step grandchildren & step great grandchildren 2 Sisters: Mrs. Lydia Korpi of Chasssell Mrs. Helen Barkkari of Houghton numerous nieces & nephews & 1 cousin Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 1:30 P.M. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, with Rev. Ted Koehl and John's step son: Rev. William Myrick to officiate. Burial to be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell on Tuesday, August 3, 2004, from 4 to 8 P.M. and for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
