Obituary of John Ruotsi Klingville John Ruotsi, 88, a former resident of Klingville, passed away Tuesday July 25, 2006, at the Maple Manor Nursing Center in Ontonagon, where he had been a resident patient for over the past 2 years. Mr. Ruotsi was born on January 28, 1918, in Klingville, a son of the late Matt and Olga (Puskala) Ruotsi. As a child he attended the Klingville School. On June 26, 1943, he was united in marriage to the former Helmi Ranta. John had worked as a farmer, Logger, Construction worker, and retired as a welder from D & D Welding of Keweenaw Bay. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, trapping, and fishing all of his life. Mr. Ruotsi was a member of the Copper Country Strawberry Association, and the Coop Board of Directors. Preceding him in death were: his parents; 1 Brother: Charles Ruotsi, and 4 Sisters: Alma Ruotsi, Sylvia Kallianen, Selma Lepisto, and Olga Mattson. Surviving are: His wife: Helmi Ruotsi a resident patient at Maple Manor Nursing Center of Ontonagon 3 Children: Pauline (David) Tuohimaa of Tapiola Rd. JoAnn Stimac of Dodgeville John (Kristine) Ruotsi of Chassell 12 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren Several Nieces, Nephews and cousins A memorial service for John will be held 4 P.M. this Thursday July 27, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Chassell with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 3 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
