Obituary of John Schumcaher Toivola John Schumacher,Jr, 80, a resident of Toviola, passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 20, 2003, at the home of his daughter, Diane Schumacher in Hurontown. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota, a son of the late John and Helen (Maltz) Schumacher, Sr., and at the age of 2 moved to Michigan. He resided in Painesdale, Trimountain, Kalamazoo, Baltic, and Toivola. He had attended the Painesdale school. John was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army in the European Theater. On April 16, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Marian Pernaski in Calumet. He was self employed as a residential painter. He was a member of the Ranger's Post # 6165 of South Range Preceding him in death were: 1 Son: Herbert in infancy; a grandson; Joshua; his parents; 2 Brothers, Herbert & Robert; and 3 Sisters, Evelyn, Katheryn, and Muriel. Surviving are his wife, Marian 3 Daughters: Gerry (Jim) Cannon of Allegan Barbara ( Dale) Cannon of Parchment Diane Schumacher of Hurontown 2 Sons: David (Barbara) of Grand Rapids John of Sheridan, Wyoming 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at 2 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock, with Rev. Tom Anderson to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Liminga Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 1 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
