Obituary of John Short Winona John R. Short Jr., 39, a resident of Winona passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 6, 2013. He was born on June 12, 1973, in L'Anse, MI, a son of John R. and Deborah (Aho) Short Sr.. John resided in Winona for most of his life, attending the Winona and Jeffers Schools before obtaining his G.E.D. Mr. Short had worked for Penegor's Saw Mill and in the woods as a woods worker for various loggers, most recently with S&R Wood Products. John was united in marriage to Jessica Pindral on March 21, 1997. In 2003, they parted ways. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Winona. John loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents, his aunts; Sue Short, Sue Aho, his uncle; Robert Aho, and his cousin; Garry Lee Short. Surviving are: His children: Samantha Short of Hancock Austin Short of Painesdale Kayla Short of Painesdale His parents: John and Debbie Short of Winona His brothers: Scott Short of Ontonagon Eric Short of Winona Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services for John will be held Thursday January 10, 2013, at the First Lutheran Church of Winona with Rev. Kristine Rice to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery of Winona. Friends may call on Thursday January 10, 2012, from 2 pm until time of services at the First Lutheran Church of Winona.
