Obituary of Jose Guindo Hancock Jose A. "Pepe' Guindo, 66, a resident of Hancock, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013, at home. He was born on June 13, 1947, in Cuba. In 1971, he immigrated to the United States, first to Florida and then Kalamazoo, MI. In1982, he moved to Hurontown and more recently resided in Hancock. Locally, Pepe worked for Gartner's Department Store, Mont Ripley Ski Hill and recently the Ginseng Farm in Liminga. Pepe enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time with his friends and playing Keno. Proceeding him in death were his parents, and step-sons; Joshua Deaton and John Deaton. Surviving are: His daughter: Yva (Donald Joyal) Schumacher of Hancock His son: Thomas Howard of Texas His stepdaughter: Kari Coombs of South Range His stepson: Ken Schumacher of Alaska Several grandchildren and 1 great grandson His friend: Diane Schumacher of Hurontown His sisters: Yva and Maria of Cuba Several nieces, nephews and cousins A time to remember Pepe will be held Sunday afternoon December 15, 2013, from 4 to 6 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
