Obituary of Joseph Babich DODGEVILLE, Joseph "Joe" M. Babich, 72, a life-long resident of Dodgeville, died on Thursday morning, August 23, 2012, at the Omega House in Houghton. Joe was born on June 28, 1940 in Dodgeville a son of the late Marco and Elizabeth (Tarak) Babich. He attended the Houghton Schools. Mr. Babich was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the U.S. Army. Joe worked for 30 years at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton retiring in 2006. He was a past member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Atlantic Mine. Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 brother, Frank Babich and 1 sister, Rose Spolarich. Surviving are 2 brothers, John (Marie) Babich of Spring Lake, MI, Rudolph (Pat Wiater) Babich of South Lyon, MI; 1 sister, Irene (Alexander) Geborkoff of Baltic; 1 sister-in-law, Kathy Babich of Spring Lake, MI; nephews, Alex (Sarah) Geborkoff of Chassell, Marc (Mialey) Geborkoff of Baltic, James Babich of Spring Lake, Mark (Carol) Babich of Grand Rapids; nieces, Carla (Steve) Bartow of Florida, Joanne (Steve Jones of Grand Haven; and several great nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation Private services will be held with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery were Military Graveside Rites will be conducted under the auspices of the Copper Country Veterans association.
