Obituary of Joseph Raymond Perreault Houghton Canal Joseph R. Perreault, 73, a resident of the Houghton Canal passed away Monday November 28, 2011, at the Marquette General Hospital following a short illness. He was born on June 20, 1938, in Lake Linden, a son of the late Raymond and Mary Rose (Vincent) Perreault. Joe attended the St. Joseph's Catholic School in Lake Linden and the Lake Linden High School. Joseph had resided in Lake Linden, Sheboygan, WI, and for the past 40 years on the Houghton Canal. Mr. Perreault had driven truck for a living, starting before he had a driver's license delivering fish to Chicago. Over the years, he had driven logging trucks, milk trucks, worked for White Pine Express, Superior Transportation, and retired from the Stanton Township Schools as a bus driver. On March 6, 1976, he was united in marriage to the former Sophie Evelyn Lantto. After his family, Joe's second love was music. He learned to play the bones as a child and continued to make music for the rest of his life. He played in various bands in the area and was very proud of his group Joe Perreault and the Valley Gentlemen. Preceding him in death was a grandson Jason Dorvinen, his parents, his mother & father-in-law, Thomas and Edna Lantto and his brother-in-law, Wesley Lantto. Surviving are: His wife: Sophie Evelyn Perreault of Houghton Canal His sons: Andrew (Lora) Perreault, Jeffery Perreault, Edward (Mickie) Dorvinen, Dale Dorvinen, Daniel Dorvinen, & David Dorvinen His daughters: Marian (Robert) Kleibusch, Beverly (Neal) Martindale, Dawna (Hal) Behrendt, Diana (Dale) Eddy & Delphine (Shane) Brezee 27 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren His sisters: Rose Mary (Gordon) Bommert and Yvonne (James) Kaura Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Joe will be held 11 am Saturday December 3, 2011, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Dean Franz and Rev. Kenneth Toth to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Oskar Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday December 2, 2011, from 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until time of the services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
