Obituary of Julie Ann Junttila Hancock Julie A. (Fiorani) Junttila, 56, a resident of Hancock passed away Wednesday November 16, 2016, surrounded by family at the Omega House in Houghton where she had been a patient. She was born on August 14, 1960, in Stambaugh, MI, a daughter of Don and Sally (Mylchreest) Fiorani. As a child, the family moved to Laurium. Julie was a graduate of the Calumet High School with the class of 1978. She then attended Northern Michigan University where she received her teaching certificate. Julie had worked for the Michigan Technological University Library Archives before beginning a career teaching in the CLK School Systems for a combined total of 33 years in education. She retired from the CLK schools due to health reasons in 2014. On July 17, 1993, she was united in marriage to William Junttila. The couple has resided in Hancock since that time where they have raised three children. Julie was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock where she helped cook for funeral luncheons. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and growing flowers. Preceding her in death were her grandparents; Helen Christofferson and Mervin Mylchreest, John & Katherine Fiorani. Surviving are: Her husband; William Junttila of Hancock Her children: Nathan Junttila, Michael Junttila and Ellen Junttila of Hancock Her parents: Don & Sally Fiorani of Atlantic Mine Her brother: Donald (Kathleen) Fiorani of Marquette Her niece and nephew: John and Amy Fiorani Her step-grandfather: Russell Christofferson Aunts, Uncles and numerous cousins A special friend of 30 plus years Paula Nutini A Mass of Christian Burial for Julie will be held 10 am Saturday November 26, 2016, at Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Fr. William Ssozi to celebrate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
