June Lishinski-Schaible (Lishinski)

Obituary of June Irene Lishinski-Schaible Hancock Canal Mrs. June L. Schaible passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Felix and Helmi Lishinski who predeceased her in death and grew up in Dodgeville, Michigan. She graduated from Houghton High School and was married to Donald Schaible, who predeceased her in death as well. She and Don made their home on the Hancock Canal. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Debbie and by her most special and precious grandson, Grant. June is also survived by her great friend and brother Joe, and sisters Edna (Bill) Engler and Elsie (Don) Doyle and by sisters-in-law Evelyn, Norma, Nancy and Joyce. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including her special niece Audrey (Marvin) Peterson and countless friends who she cared about deeply. June was an extra special mother, grandmother and friend. She always took time to spend with other people, even when time was precious and money was scarce. She taught us what unconditional love was, showed us all how to be good people in the face of challenges and she taught us to forgive and to embrace the challenges of life. She was open-minded in complicated times, a better listener than a talker and she was a great role model for all who knew her. She took care of many over her life and all of us who knew her are better people because she touched us. We will all miss her terribly and will carry on knowing that her spirit will always be with us to guide us through troubled times. A celebration of her life will take place with family and friends at a private ceremony. She will be laid to rest with Don in the Copper Harbor Cemetery, in the part of the Copper Country where many great adventures for both took place.
