Obituary of June P Hancock June P. Kus, 89 a former resident of Hancock & Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell, passed away Tuesday afternoon March 19, 2013, at the Portage Hospital in Hancock where she had been a patient for the past day. She was born on June 28, 1923, in Hancock a daughter of the late Frank & Flora. June was a graduate of the Houghton High School. Following school she resided in the Detroit area where she worked as a switch board operator and also one of the airplane manufacturing plants. On July 6, 1945 she was united in marriage to Gordon J. Kus, together they raised 4 children and after 25 years together parted ways. June enjoyed reading, working cross word puzzles and sewing. Preceding her in death where her grandson Kevin, her parents, her sister Katherine her brothers, Carl, John and George Surviving are: Her children: Dale of LAke Linden, Cindy of Hancock Mary (Peter) of Grafton, WI Daniel of Livonia Her grandchildren: Dale, Craig, Marc, Beth, Kristina and Nathan Her great grandchildren: Jordan, Tessa, McKenzie, Taylor, Preston, Kendra, Trinity, Jacob and Olivia Her brother: David of Hunstville, AL Her brother-in-law: Donald of Montrose, MI Her sisters-in-laws: Beatrice of Houghton Eleanor of Calumet Darlene of Thousand Oaks, CA Her special friend: Mary Tomlinson Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for June will be held 6 pm Monday March 25, 2013, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. D.J. Rasner to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock. Friends may call on Monday from 4 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
