Kathryn Sauvola

Obituary of Kathryn Rose Sauvola Chassell Kathryn R. Sauvola, 81, a former resident of Chassell passed away at the Light House at Hubbell where she had been a resident patient for the past four years. She was born on March 23, 1936, in Hancock a daughter of the late Lawrence and Cecilia (Beauchamp) Colombe. She attended the Houghton Schools. For a short time, she resided in California. On February 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to George Sauvola. The couple had resided on the Denton Rd. since that time. On January 22, 2013, James preceded her in death. Mrs. Sauvola had worked cooking for various business in the area and retired from Soumi College as a cook. Preceding her in death were her husband, her daughter Grace, her parents, her brother Lawrence Duffy Colombe and her sister Mary Nelson. Surviving are: Her daughters: Kathryn (Timothy) Bruhnke of Clintoville, WI Judith (Tony DeCesare) Michaelson of Hancock Lori (Brian) LaFave of Hubbell Her grandchildren: T.J., Lucas, Justina, Jacob, Joseph & Katelyn 5 great grandchildren Her brothers & sisters: Richard (MaryEllen) Colombe of Chassell John Colombe of Chassell Bill Colombe of Lake Linden Eleanor Sauvola of Houghton Angie (Mel) Lyttinen of Tapiola Ann Heckel of Houghton Jenny (Ron) Kyro of Tapiola Pauline Pietila of LAnse Rita (Gerald) OConnell of Baltic Dorothy (Ray) Aho of Tapiola Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Kathryn will be held 2 pm Friday June 9, 2017, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Chassell with Pastor Kenneth Toth to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday June 9, 2017, from 1 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell.
