Hancock Kaye Anne Kotila, 65, a resident of Hancock and former Dollar Bay resident, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, while visiting her son in LAnse following a lengthy illness. She was born on September 8, 1955, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Chopp) Kotila. Kaye was raised in the Hancock area and attended the Hancock School and Soumi College. Ms. Kotila began a career working as a Certified Nurses Aide at Cypress Manor Nursing Home before moving to the Houghton County Medical Care Facility from where she retired two years ago from. Kaye enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping trips with her sister and trips to the casino. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers Gil, Glen and Infant brother Phillip.Surviving are:Her children: Erica Kopp, Dustin Doll, Breanne Townsend, Dave Townsend, Daniel Townsend, Billy Autio and Tommy Autio10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildHer sisters and brother:Evelyn Stewart, Diane Greenlees and Gary KotilaNumerous nieces, nephews and cousins A time to remember Kaye will be held Sunday April 11, 2021, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Hancock.
