Obituary of Kenneth Albert Johnson Chassell Kenneth A. Johnson, 75, a resident of N. Entry, Chassell, passed away Saturday morning August 3, 2019, at the UP-Health Portage Hospital from an apparent heart attack. He was born on June 12, 1944, in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Nels and Francis (Timmer) Johnson. He was raised in the Chicago area and would summer in Felch, MI with his family. Mr. Johnson was a veteran having served with the United States Army. On November 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Gayle Collette and the couple had raised three sons. Ken began a career as a Construction Estimator working for various companies. During that time, the family resided in Chicago, Lake Orion, MI, Tucson, AZ, and Brighton, MI. In 1992, he moved to make his home in Chassell when he accepted a position as a Construction Estimator for Gundlach Inc., retiring in 2012. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting grass and working on various projects outdoors. He also enjoyed watching reruns of Gunsmoke and John Wayne westerns. Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother this past July 8th. Surviving are: His wife: Gayle Johnson of N. Entry His sons: Andrew Johnson of Warrenton, VA Christopher (Jody) Johnson of Painesdale and their son Dane Adam Johnson of Baltimore, MD His brother: Phillip Johnson of Branson, MS Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
