Winona Kenneth A. Saari, 65, was called to Heaven on August 26, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. Ken was born on May 7, 1955 in Hancock, the son of the late Ronald and Edna (Pyhtila) Saari. He was raised in Winona and graduated from Jeffers High School with the Class of 1973. In 1986, he was united in marriage to the former Colleen Gregory and continued to live in Winona to raise their sons. Ken was self-employed. He owned and operated S&R Wood Products and worked as a logger for over 40 years. Ken was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Winona. He enjoyed tinkering outside, visiting with friends and helping others when needed. Besides his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey and a brother Robert. He is survived by his wife; Colleen of Winona His son; Ronald of Winona Granddaughter; Brianna of Reese, MI His brothers; Ronald (Maria) of Painesdale Donald of White Pine David (Colleen) of Winona Richard (Cheryl) of Greenland Steven (Denise) of Mankato, MN His sisters: Patricia (Bruce) Racine of Rockland Elizabeth (Daniel) Bowling of Ishpeming Barbara (Garry) Short of Rapid River He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service for Kenneth will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in the Woodland Cemetery in Winona with Rev. Michael Laakko officiating. Visitation will be held at the cemetery from 11 am until the time of service. Following the service, a time to celebrate Kens life will be held at the family house on Central Street in Winona.
