Obituary of Laina Kinnunen Hancock Mrs. Laina H. Kinnunen, 91, a resident of Pine Street, Hancock, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital, in Escanaba, where she had been a patient since Dec. 30, 2003 The former Laina Lindgren was born on March 29, 1912, in Salo, a daughter of the late Ivar and Anna (Pahikainen) Lindgren and attended the Salo school. She lived for most of her lifetime in Hancock. Her husband, Adam Kinnunen, preceded her in death on November 11. 1978. Laina had worked at the former Suomi College in Hancock for many years. She was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Helen Surviving are: 1 Daughter: Mrs. Lois Thurston of Hancock 3 Sons:: Eldon (Alice) Kinnunen of Waasa Road, Hancock William (Kathy) Kinnunen of Clawson Mark (Doreen) Kinnunen of the Hancock Canal District 13 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren 1 Sister: Mrs. Linda Karinen of Marquette numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 11 A.M. in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, with Rev. Jimalee Jones to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Waasa Cemetery. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock, from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, and from 10 A.M. until time of services at the church on Wednesday.
