Obituary of Lillian Luusua Keweenaw Bay Lillian Luusua, 90, a resident of Keweenaw Bay passed away Thursday April 19, 2007, at the Baraga County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on February 28, 1917, in Osceola, a daughter of the late Eseri and Emma (Molander) Lahti. As a child she moved with her family to Tapiola and attend the Doelle School. Lillian has also resided in Battle Creek, MI, Toledo, OH, and for the past 60 years has made her home in the Keweenaw Bay area. On July 21 of 1945, she was united in marriage Harold Luusua. Preceding her in death where her parents, husband, Harold, sisters, Elma Luoto and Bertha Aho and granddaughter Bridgett Luusua Surviving are: Sister: Edna Bakkila of Grand Rapids, MI Children: David (Tina) Luusua of Sarasota, FL Michael Luusua of Keweenaw Bay Marvin Luusua of Keweenaw bay John Luusua of Walled Lake, MI Karen (John) Franceschelli of Farmington, MN Diana (Alan) Marttinen of Maple, Ontario Canada 5 Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends & brothers & sisters in faith Lillian Luusua was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock. Funeral services for Lillian will be held 11 a.m. Monday April 23, 2007, in the Old Apostolic Lutheran church of Hancock with Clarence Marttila to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday April 22, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorial may be given to Baragaland Senior Citizen Center.
