Obituary of Linda Hayrynen Linda M. Hayrynen TOIVOLA - Linda M. Hayrynen, 84, a former resident of Toivola, passed away Thursday evening, February 21, 2008, at the Franklin House of Portage Pointe where she had been a resident patient for the past year. She was born on May 7, 1923 in Toivola, a daughter of the late Evert and Sigrid (Honkavaara) Kommes. Linda attended the Perala School and graduated from Jeffers High School. On May 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Hayrynen and he preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Hayrynen was a member of the Painesdale Apostolic Lutheran Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, her son, Guy Hayrynen, her parents, a sister, Ruth Dugdale and a brother, Alfred Kommes. Surviving are her daughters, Christine (Dana) Nakkula of Toivola and Geraldine (William) Luukkonen of Toivola; six grandchildren, Darrin (Jen) Luukkonen, Jessica (Josh) Penny, Lisa Erickson, Laura Nakkula, Tim (Isidora) Nakkula and Jeffrey Nakkula; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Verna Lehto, a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility; an uncle, Harold Honkavaara; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Linda will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008 in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock with Pastor Herb Jarvi to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Toivola Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home.
