Obituary of Louis Grover Hauswirth Hancock Louis Hauswirth, 90, a resident of Jasberg St., Hancock, passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday August 16, 2006, from an apparent heart attack. He was born on October 7, 1915, in Hancock, a son of the late Louis and Mayme (Kreivi) Hauswirth. As a child Louis attended the Hancock Schools. Mr. Hauswirth was a veteran having served with the United States Army during W.W. II in the South Pacific, Phillipines, Mindenao, and Japan as a Staff Sgt. During the depression Mr. Hauswirth was with the CCC camps. On October 10, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Laila R. Finni. Louis had worked for 36 years with the Bosch Brewery, and for 2 years at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Hauswirth was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, Alfred Erickson Post #186 American Legion of Hancock, and Bay Post #6028 V.F.W. of Dollar Bay, plus a former member of Senior Citizens Club XYZ. Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers & Sister: Edward, John, Harold & Eleanor. Surviving are: His wife Laila Hauswirth of Hancock A Step-son: Karl (Kathleen) Finni of Chassell 2 Step-Grandsons: Ryan and Jeffrey Finni of Chassell Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Louis will be held 2 P.M. Monday August 21, 2006, in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, with Revs. Susan Odegard and Jimalee Jones to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock. Friends may call on Monday from 12 noon until time of services at the Church where Alfred Erickson Post #186 American Legion will hold military rites at 1:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials may be given to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or the Charity of ones choice.
