Obituary of Marian Erickson HoughtonMarian "Sis" Erickson, 69, a resident of the Arbor Green Apartments in Houghton passed away early Sunday morning November 23, 2008, at home following a lengthy illness.She was born on February 11, 1939, in Tri-Mountain, MI a daughter of the late Alva "Babe" and Verna (Linna) Smith. She attended the Jeffers School. Marian has also resided in Painesdale, Huronwton for over 50 years and for the past 3 years has made her home at the Arbor Green Apartments in Houghton.In 1955 she was united in marriage to James Miller and after years of marriage and 5 children together they parted ways. On September 4, 1976, she was united in marriage to Ronald Erickson and after 4 children and 19 years together he preceded her in death on April 7, 2005.Sis had helped work with the local election board for over 20 years and most recently was employed with the local Wal-mart store.She was a member of Hope Fellowship Church of Houghton, F.O.E. Aerie #382 of Hancock, Sis loved to play Bingo in her spare time, travel, and all animals.Preceded her in death were her husband, her son Ronald Jr., her parents, and her mother-in-law Elvie Erickson.Surviving are: Her children: James (Barbara) Miller of Cincinati, OHRicky (Linda) Miller of Wetumpka, ALRandy Miller of HurontownLori (Todd Ozzello) Anderson of Bloomer, WI Lisa Miller of Phenix, ALJeannene (Steve) Tepsa of HoughtonCarissa (Dean) Katajamaki of IshpemingDarin (Janet) Erickson of Hancock18 Grandchildren & 15 Great GrandchildrenHer sister: Betty (Robert) Mattila of PainesdaleHer brother: Clyde Smith of MarquetteHer sister-in-laws: Nancy (Jerry) Sullivan of Gwinn Alice (Jack) Powell of Hancock Several nieces, nephews, and cousinsFuneral services for Sis will be held 11 am Wednesday November 26, 2008, at Hope Fellowship Church of Houghton with Rev. Paul Marin to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Friends may call on Wednesday November 26, 2008, at Hope Fellowship Church in Houghton from 10 am until time of services. F.O.E.
