Marian Schumacher (Pernaski)

Obituary of Marian G. Schumacher Toivola Marian G. Schumacher, 94, a former resident of Toivola, passed away Thursday evening November 15, 2018, at the Medora House of Portage Pointe in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for the past three years. Marian was born on July 27, 1924, in Houghton, the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian (Pitkajarvi) Pernaski. She was raised in Houghton and attended the St. Ignatius Catholic School. On April 16, 1946 she married John Schumacher, Jr. in Calumet. She and John resided in numerous places including Baltic, Munising, Arizona, Kalamazoo, Painesdale and Toivola. Preceding Marian in death are, her husband, John, an infant son, Herbert, grandsons, Joshua and John and a great-grandson, Eric. She is survived by: 3 daughters; Gerry (Jim) Cannon of Allegan Barbara (Dale) Cannon of Parchment Diane Schumacher of Hurontown 2 sons; David (Barbara) Schumacher of Eagle River, MI John Schumacher of Prescott, AZ 10 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived my many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for Marian will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 11am-1pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock.
