Marie L. Morrison, 96, a resident of Hancock passed away Saturday November 16, 2024, at the UP Health Systems – Portage Hospital shortly after being admitted.

She was born on April 13, 1928, in Taylorville, IL, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lucinda (Connerly) Wright. Marie was raised in Taylorville, IL and was a graduate of the Taylorville High School.

Marie worked as a secretary for Sangamon Card Company until becoming untied in marriage to Herbert Clifton on April 24, 1948. The couple had resided in Edinburg, IL, and Horseshoe Bend, AR. While residing in Arkansas Marie has worked as a secretary for an insurance company. On July 4, 1983, Herbert preceded Marie in death. Marie was united in marriage to William Morrison and the couple resided in Horseshoe Bend, Ark, Mexico and Joshua Tree, CA. Following Williams death Marie moved to make her home in Milwaukee and for the past 10 years has made her home in Hancock.

Mrs. Morrison was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Houghton. She also was a member of the Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her husbands; Herbert Clifton and William Morrison, her parents Benjamin and Lucinda, Wright and her sisters: Wanda Underwood, Earlene McBride and Alice Simmons.

Surviving are: Her daughter: Janet Oyler of Hancock; Her granddaughters: Leiann (Benjamin) Milison of Milwaukee, WI; Her great grandson: Maxwell Milison of Milwaukee, WI; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
