Obituary of Martha Caroline Isaacson Hancock Martha C. Isaacson a resident of Houghton County Medical Care Facility passed away February 27, 2018 at the age of 100 years old. She was born December 6, 1917, the daughter of Adolph and Lempi Hannu Nelson. She attended the local schools. She worked for Oak Manufacturing and Stewart Warner in Illinois and also as a housekeeper at Portage Hospital. She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Houghton. She married Ernest Isaacson on July 31, 1937 and was married 49 years. He proceeded her in death October 5, 1986. Also proceeding her in death were her parents Adolph and Lempi Nelson, sisters Florence Maki and Mildred Harris, and brother Walfred Nelson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Martha will be held 11 am Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet.
