Obituary of Martha Stone Chassell Mrs. Martha (Tauno) Stone, 71, a resident of the Chassell-Painesdale Road, in Chassell, passed away from an apparent heart attack while at home on Sunday, April 11, 2004. The former Martha E. Hyttinen was born on Aug. 28, 1932, in Liminga a daughter of the late Eser and Kate (Juntunen) Hyttinen, and resided during her youth in the Liminga District. She later resided in Paavola, White Pine for many years, and since 1986 has made her home in the Chassell area. On August 21, 1965, she was united in marriage to Tauno R. Stone. Martha was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, she had previously served on the church council, and currently was President of the W.E.L.C.A. of the church, also she was a member of the Suomi Kerho. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Lisa in 1974, her parents; 6 Brothers, 1 Sister, and her first husband, Benhart Leinonen. Surviving are: her husband, Tauno 1 Daughter: Mrs. Joyce (Bruce) Leinonen-Erickson of Ironwood 2 Sons: James Leinonen of Ontonagon Paul Stone of Chassell 3 Grandchildren numerous neices, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2004, at 1 P.M. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell with Rev. Ted Koehl to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Chassell on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. In Lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell.
