Obituary of Mary Christina Branstrom South Range Mary Christina Branstrom, 90, passed away at Portage Pointe on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She was a former resident of South Range. Mary was born on January 19, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Michale and Lena Picciano. Mary spent her life living in the local area where she worked as a waitress and a nurse's aide. She loved spending time with her family, and was especially proud to be a great-great grandmother. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alan Branstrom, 3 brothers; Joseph, Lawrence, and Dominic Picciano; 3 sisters: Vi Kangas, Gloria Roseveare, Lucille Mantz; and a grandson Brett Lanala. Mary is survived by her son, John (Patricia) Paavola of Calumet, her daughter Pauline Lanala of Dodgeville; Grandchildren: David Lanala of Chassell, Sherry (Paul) Strack of Dodgeville, Ed Ekdahl of Dodgeville, Jamie (Zach) Mleko of Iowa; Great-grandchildren: Darci Strack of Dodgeville, Kristie Anderson of Houghton Kaylee and Shayne Wendling of Hancock, Jaide Ekdahl, Hannah, Josiah & Gabriel Mleko; 5 great-great Grandchildren: Janessa & Akayna Strack, Blake & Ashton Bailey, Jordyn Wendling & numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mary will be held 1 p.m. Friday afternoon July 11, 2008, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Licensed Lay Minister Clay Hilman to officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View cemetery of South Range. Friends may call on Friday July 11, 2008 from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
