Obituary of Mary Audine Nelson Osma PlatMary Audine (Vance) Nelson, 76, a resident of Osma Plat, Stanton Township passed away Saturday evening September 24, 2016, peacefully at her home following a multi-year struggle with ALS.Surviving are her husband Vance Nelson, son Tim (Heidi DePuydt) Nelson of Houghton, daughter Pamela (David) Elliott of De Pere, WI, grandsons Colin and Charles Elliott, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.She will be remembered for the many contributions she made for her family, friends and community - Activities with FCE, Michigan State Extension, and the Latch Key program; countless submissions and a Homemaker of the Year award at the Houghton County Fair; hundreds of crocheted baby hats for infants at multiple hospitals, years of gardening and shared produce; an endless zeal for all forms of crafting; a loving 50 years of marriage.As requested, private family services will be held at a later time.
