Hancock
May M. Forsman, 95, a resident of Hancock, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Pewabic House of Portage Pointe in Hancock, where she had been a resident patient.
She was born on May 15, 1930, on the family farm on Quincy Hill, a daughter of the late John and Mabel (Klintti) Kiiskila. May was raised on the family farm and attended the Quincy School before graduating from the Hancock High School with the class of 1948.
May then moved to the Detroit area to work for a while. She returned to the area and had worked several different jobs before beginning a career working at the Portage View Hospital as a CNA, retiring after 30 years.
On August 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to Norman Forsman. The couple made their home on Quincy Hill as they raised their family. On February 13, 2003, Norman preceded May in death. Together with her husband, May had owned and operated and then helped her son, Bob, operate the Forsman Family Strawberry Farm for over 60 years.
Mrs. Forsman was a member of the Range Apostolic Lutheran Church of South Range.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Norman, her parents, her brothers: John Kiiskila, George Kiiskila, Carl Kiiskila, and Walter Kiiskila.

Her grandchildren: James (Mary) Forsman, Sarah (Karl) Maki, Jeff (Kelley) Richard, Travis Sell, Bridgette (John Orth) Forsman
Her great grandchildren: Jay R, Aiden, Austin, Noah, Bryce, Kaisa, Karina, Claire, Logan and Nora
Great-great grandchild: Peyton

A funeral service for May will be held 1:00 pm on Monday July 28, 2025, at The Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Hancock Chapel with Pastor Ernest Bylkas to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
Friends may call on Monday July 28, 2025, from 11:00 am until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Hancock Chapel.
