Obituary of Michael John Jutila Dollar Bay Michael J. Jutila, 62, a resident of Dollar Bay and area businessman, unexpectedly passed away Saturday May 13, 2017, at UP Health - Marquette. He was born on March 18, 1955, in Hancock a son of the late Sulo and Helen (Jarvi) Jutila. Mike was raised in Ripley and graduated from Hancock High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University in 1977. Mr. Jutila received his CPA and had worked for Joe Daavitella, along with various businesses in the area. Currently, Mike was part owner of Jutila, Jorgensen & Associates PC. On September 1, 1995 he was united in marriage to Carol Jeanne, nee Kinnunen. Mike was a gifted musician who loved music. He played locally with the Weekend Cowboy Band, Stubborn County, and Rolling Thunder. For over 30 years he had helped originate and play in the EB Holman School Country Jamboree and Chassell Country Western Show. More recently he enjoyed playing in the Milkman Jamboree and Trap Rock Valley Jams. Surviving are:His loving & devoted wife and companion of 34 years: Carol Jutila of Dollar Bay. His step-son: Jeffrey (Rehema) Thornton of Beijing, China His sister-in-law: Kaye Perry of Baraga His brother-in-law: John R. Kinnunen of Milwaukee, WI Funeral Services for Michael will be held 7 pm Thursday May 18, 2017, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Peter Gunderson to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock at a later time. Friends may call on Thursday May 18, 2017, from 5 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock. I lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to the Copper Country Human Society in Memory of Michael Jutila.
