Obituary of Michael James Kangas Hancock Michael J. Kangas, 42, a resident of Hancock, passed away Sunday June 16, 2019, at home following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 2, 1976, in Hancock a son of the late George and Patricia (Laingren) Kangas Sr. Mike attended the Hancock Schools and was a graduate of the Houghton High School. Mr. Kangas had worked as a maintenance person for Copper Country Mental Health for numerous years. Mike enjoyed fishing, buildings models, watching movies and wrestling on TV, and going to the Houghton County Fair watching the Demolition Derby. Preceding him in death were his parents and his four-legged buddy Snuggles. Surviving are: His brother: George Kangas Jr of Hancock His sister: Cindy (Scott) Kela of Boston Location His nieces: Nikki (Ben) Fredinalli and Krista Kela Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins His pet Missy A private graveside service for Mike will be held at a later time in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.
