Michael George Tesch

Hancock

     Michael G. Tesch, 73, a resident of Hancock passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Omega House in Houghton.

     He was born a raised in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late George and Corine (Sloniker) Tesch.

     Michael was a veteran having served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  During his service time, Mike was proud to have received a Bronze Star and the The Air Medal. 

     Following the service, Mr. Tesch began a career working for Music Land.  He had worked his way to being the district manager in the Upper Peninsula for the company and retired after 30 years of service when the local store closed.

     On November 19, 1977, he was united in marriage to the former Retha Wine.  The couple resided in the Milwaukee area before moving to make their home in the Copper County.  On December 6, 2009, Retha preceded Mike in death.

     Mr. Tesch enjoyed golfing and bowling in his free time.

            His step-daughter: Debbie (Gary) LaBeau of South Range

            His grandchildren: Raquel Brambel, Thomas Wittliff, & Erik LaBeau

            His great-grandchildren: Michell, Alyssa, Kendra, Caleb, Noah, & AJ

            Her great-great-grandson: Grayson

     A celebration of Mike’s life will be held later this spring.
