Obituary of Mildred Johnson Hancock Mildred (Edsel) Johnson, 83, a resident of N. Lincoln Dr., Hancock, passed away Friday October 24, 2008, at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock, where she had been a resident patient for the past two weeks. She was born on December 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Oscar and Wilhelmina (Tapani) Poyhonen. Mildred was a graduate of the Hancock High School. On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edsel Johnson. Mildred was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and time in her garden working with her plants. Preceding her in death were her daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and John Isaacson, 1 great grandson, her parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock. Friends may call on Monday October 27, 2008, from4 to 8 pm at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton and on Tuesday from 10 am until time of services at the church.
