Obituary of Mitchell McGlathery Dollar Bay Mitchell R. McGlathery Jr., 28, a resident of Dollar Bay passed away Thursday morning February 19, 2015, at UP Health Systems-Portage Hospital, shortly after being admitted following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 1, 1986, in Oklahoma City, OK, a son of the late Mitchell R. McGlathery Sr. and Lisa (Erickson) Backman. Mitchell was raised in Dollar Bay and attended the Dollar Bay Schools and the Hancock Bridge School. Following school, Mitchell had worked various jobs in the area, along with working at Kentucky Fried Chicken and the De La Terre. He enjoyed cooking, playing hockey, playing in the local pool league and playing cribbage with Big Den. Preceding him in death were his father Mitchell R. McGlathery Sr., his maternal grandparents Marion and Arthur Erickson, his paternal grandparents Hope and Mack McGlathery, his aunts Tammy and Tracy Erickson and his cousin Kayla Korpela. David Weber to officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday February 24, 2015 from 3 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
