Obituary of Norma Champion Dollar BayNorma H. (Jack) Champion, 80, a resident of Dollar Bay passed away Thursday May 21, 2009, at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock where she had been a resident for the past month.She was born, on July 17, 1928, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Einard and Katherine (Miller) Saari. Norma was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1946.On November 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Champion and since that time the couple has made their home in Dollar Bay.Mrs. Champion was first employed at Newberry's Department Store in Houghton and then at Latvala's Store in Dollar Bay.Norma was a member of First Lutheran Church of Dollar Bay.Surviving are: Her husband: John Champion of Dollar Bay Her daughter: Barbara (Richard) Trudgeon of Twin LakesHer granddaughter: Carla (Pete) Isaacson of L'AnseHer great grandson: Logan Saari Her sister: Barbara Robillard of Houghton Her brother: Allen (Nelle) Saari of Fullerton, CAHer nieces: Mary Kuure & Nancy LaPointeHer nephew: Dr. Larry RobillardSeveral cousinsAs requested, no service or visitation will be held for Norma.The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock has been assisting the family with the arrangements.
