Obituary of Orville Stephani MR HoughtonOrville A. Stephani, 93, of Houghton, MI. and formerly of Manitowoc, WI. passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, MI. where he had resided for the past 3 years. He was born on March 3, 1920, in Manitowoc, WI. a son of the late Peter & Elizabeth (Pautz) Stephani. Orville was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc with the class of 1938.Mr. Stephani was a veteran having served with the Coast Guard during World War II.On April 26, 1941, he was united in marriage to the former Lucille Brunner and she preceded him in death on April 1, 1999. Since that time Orville has lived in Houghton, MI, and then 3 years with his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ron Curran.Orville worked as a machinist for Hamilton Manufacturing in Manitowoc, retiring in 1985.Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, his brother and sister-in-law Arnold (Helen) Stephani, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jane (Walter) Kaufman, Irene (Arland) Matthias, Dave (Agnes) Brunner, Marie (Edmund) Welch, Gerald Brunner and Louis (Marie) Brunner.Surviving are: His children: Sharon (Ron) Curran of Houghton, MIEdward Stephani of Iron Mountain, MI Jerry (Mary) Stephani of Brookfield, WISusan (David) Bubb of Manitowoc, WIMary Prantil of Healdsburg, CA.10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousinsAt Orville's request, no services will be held and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, WI. at a later date.Orville's family would like to thank the caring staff of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care shown to our Dad during his stay.To view Orville's obituary or to send condolences to the family please visit www.plowefuneralhome.comThe Memorial Chapel & Plowe Funeral Homes have been assisting the family with the arrangements.Service Information To send flowers to the family of Orville MR, please visit Tribute Store
