Obituary of Patina Looper Hancock Patina L. (Jeremy) Looper, a resident of Hancock, Suddenly passed away Saturday September 11, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN, where she had been a patient for the past two days. She was born on May 21, 1958, in Santa Monica, CA, and was raised by her parents Roland and Patricia (Butler) Dupuis in Lakewood, CA. She attended the Arteshia High School in Cerritos, CA. On July 17, 1997, she met Jeremy Looper and they were united in marriage on July 17, 2002. The couple has made their home in Hancock since 1999. Tina was a stay at home mom that loved the outdoors camping and fishing, she was proud of her Cherokee heritage and encouraged all to follow her to honor and preserve the environment while living within it. She enjoyed hiking and collecting driftwood and helping all in need. Preceding her in death were her parents, Patricia and Roland Dupuis, her brother Edward A. Dupuis, her step father Edward E. Dupuis Jr., her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Edward E. Dupuis, her great grandmother Florence Schafer, and her former fianc? Michael Bieser Sr. Surviving are: Her husband: Jeremy Looper of Hancock Her children: Trista (Brandon) Looper of Franklin Twp. Michael (Dennise Verheyen) Bieser of Calumet Lucas Looper of Calumet Nicole Looper of Marquette Her grandchildren: Kristina Looper, Andrew Looper, Christian Bieser and Michael Bieser III. Her sisters: Tanya L. Dupuis of California Tammy L. (Vernon) Frenzel of Landers, CA Her niece, Patricia Dupuis Moore of California Her uncle Charles L. Butler of Houghton Many nieces, nephews and cousins A memorial service for Patina will be held 6 pm Thursday September 16, 2010, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Alan Fluegge to officiate. Friends may call on Thursday September 16, 2010, from 4 pm until time of the services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
