Jon Patrick "Jonny" Kemppainen, age 47, passed away on August 12, 2025, in West Bend, Wisconsin. Born on January 22, 1978, in L'Anse, Michigan, Jon lived a life full of warmth, humor, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A master of his trade, Jon was a highly skilled electrician whose work reflected his dedication and drive to keep learning. His achievements, including earning his Master's certification, were a point of pride, but they never defined him as much as his role as a father.
Jon's love for his girls, Taylor Kemppainen, Chaelyn Kemppainen, Corissa Kemeny, Chasity Kemeny, and Hailey Jensen was the strongest force in his life. Every conversation, shared laugh, and bonfire outdoors with them was treasured. His love for them was not just evident, it was woven into the very fabric of who he was.
Known to many as "Jonny," he carried an easy, magnetic joy. A self-proclaimed goofball with a heart of gold, his infectious laughter and genuine kindness left a lasting mark on all who crossed his path.
He is survived by his parents, Deborah Paskvan and Jack Kemppainen (Jill); his sisters, Jackie (Clint) Scarrow and Kerry Kemppainen; his brother, Duane Kemppainen (Nichole); and his best friend, Donna Kemeny, Chaelyn's mother. He was a proud grandfather to Baylen Waala, with another grandchild on the way. Jon is also survived by several aunts and an uncle, and he dearly loved his several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Edwin "Papa Eddy" Wuorinen, whom he shared a love for jokes and rapping Eminem; his Mimi, Helen Wuorinen; and his grandparents, Lea and Felix Kemppainen.
Jon found beauty in life's simple pleasures, drawing anything that caught his eye, cooking meals to share with others, expanding his ever-growing tool set, fishing, especially at Emily Lake, and spending time with the people he cherished most.
He will be deeply missed, remembered for the laughter he inspired, the fierce love he gave, and the legacy of kindness and joy he leaves behind.
