Obituary of Patrick Schmid
South RangePatrick D. Schmid, 41, a resident of South Range passed away at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 25, 1969, in Coon Rapids, MN, a son of Sharon (Pipp) Schmid and the late Anthony L. Schmid. He was raised in Champlin, MN, and graduated from Anoka Senior High School with the class of 1986. Pat then attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. Following college, he had resided in Stillwater, MN, Hopkins, MN, where he worked in the business management field. For the past 5 years he made his home in South Range. Locally, Pat had worked with Jack Ham at Office Express in Houghton and as a private business consultant. Pat loved to spend time outdoors especially fishing & skiing. He enjoyed following hockey and football, both Minnesota and Michigan teams, his heart was in playing softball. Preceding him in death were his father, his sister Janene Iona Schmid and many grandparents.Surviving are: His Great Grandmother Iona R. Schmid His mother; Sharon Norman of Chassell His brothers & sisters; Timothy J. Schmid of Minneapolis, MN Patricia D. (Jeff) Christiansen of Grand Rapids, MN Mark A. (Michelle) Schmid of Ramsey, MN His step-brother; Benjamin Schmid of Brooklyn Park, MN His step-sister; Hayley Schmid of Brooklyn Park, MN Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins A memorial service for Pat will be held 6:30 pm Monday August 30, 2010, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Sister Ellen Enright of St. Anne Parish to officiate along with Pastor Bucky Beach of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy Patrick's family will accept memorial's made in his name.Friends may call on Monday August 30, 2010, from 5 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell.
