Obituary of Paul Hauswirth Salo District Paul L. Hauswirth, 86, a resident of the Salo District, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday evening, January 25, 2005, following an apparent heart attack. He was born in Edgemere Location on December 29, 1918, a son of the late Anton and Anna (Wiitala) Hauswirth, and attended the Hancock schools. He resided for most of his lifetime in Hancock, and lived in the Detroit area, retiring in 1975, when he moved back to Hancock. For the past 14 years he has made his home in the Salo District. He attended the Hancock Public Schools. Mr. Hauswirth was employed by the Chrysler Motor Company as a model maker for a number of yeras until his retirement. On October 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Irene Maki. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army transporting prisoners. He was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, and the Alfred Erickson Post #186, American Legion of Hancock. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 1 Sister; Emma Coppo and 2 brothers; Anton and Edward.
