Obituary of Paul Adolph Walitalo Pelkie Paul A. Walitalo, 80, a resident of Pelkie passed away Wednesday August 17, 2011, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born June 16, 1931 in Pelkie, a son of the late Arvo and Sally (Myllyla) Walitalo. Paul attended the Pelkie School and graduated from the Baraga High School with the Class of 1949, he then attended Michigan Technological University. Mr. Walitalo had resided for most of his life in Pelkie, where he had worked as a Water Well Driller. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. Paul was united in marriage to the former Ruby Jean Short and she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his son David Walitalo, and his sister Shirley Kemppainen. Surviving are his children: Paula (Gordon) Polito of Port Orchard, WA Mark Walitalo of AnnArbor, MI Lisa (Jeff) Siler of Spokane, WA James Walitalo of Pelkie Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews & cousins. A graveside memorial service for Paul will be held 11:00 am Saturday September 3, 2011 at the Pelkie Cemetery with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate.
