Philip Ryynanen

Keweenaw Bay Philip Edwin Ryynanen passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at his home in Keweenaw Bay with his family by his side. Philip was born on November 21, 1942, to Edwin and Eva (Saari) Ryynanen in Hancock, MI. Philip was joined in marriage to Carole Heinonen on November 26, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Judy (Jim) Boyd and Sally Hurley, in-laws: George and Hannah Heinonen, Tom and Virginia Heinonen and 1 great-grandson: Mark David Erkkila. Survivors include his: wife Carole Ryynanen of Keweenaw Bay, his children Denise (Carl) Daavettila of Chassell, Russell (Beth) Ryynanen of Houghton, Sandy Ryynanen of Chassell, Jeanne Tikkanen of Calumet, Ann (David) Torola of Calumet and Jana (Dennis) Kastamo of Howell, his brothers Ken (Leona) Ryynanen of Houghton and David Ryynanen of Maine Sisters: Eva LaFave of Ishpeming Vida Tebby of Texas his in-laws: Janet (Dennis) Hietala of South Range and Mary (John) Hannus of Minneapolis. 43 grandchildren,21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers & sisters in faith. A memorial service for Philip will be held 12 noon Friday, December 11, 2020, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton with David Tailvalkoski to officiate. Burial will be in the Keweenaw Bay Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 10:00 until the time of services at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton.
