Priscilla Monette (Mattson)

Chassell Priscilla Monette, 79, a resident of Chassell passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, at the Franklin House of Portage Pointe in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for the past year. She was born on December 21, 1940, in Pelkie, MI, a daughter of the late Gerry and Helmi (Koski) Mattson. Priscilla was raised in Pelkie, attended the Pelkie School and was a graduate of the Baraga High School. On April 15, 1961, she was united in marriage to Paul Monette. The couple resided in Houghton until 1972 when they moved to make their home in Chassell. On June 21, 2019, Paul preceded Priscilla in death. Mrs. Monette enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, cooking and sewing in her free time. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her brother Jerry Mattson and her sister Nancy Turunen. Surviving are: Her sons: Paul (Lori) Monette of Lake Linden Michael (Tammi) Monette of Chassell Her grandchildren: Natalie Monette, Tyler (Samantha) Monette, Danielle (Shane) Hupp and Ashlynn (Trevor) Kalcich Several great-grandchildren Her twin sister: Patricia (Paul) Tussing of Chassell Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins A Memorial service for Priscilla will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 22, 2020, with Pastor Jesse Aho to officiate.
